From 11th to 13th of June the Secretariat of the MMFN took part in the ERIAFF 10th Annual Conference 2024 in Seinäjoki (Finland).
This year's theme, Regions as Changemakers for European Resilience and Sustainability, encourages the participants to discuss the role of regions in building up a more resilient and sustainable European Agri-Food and Forestry Systems. In the aftermath of European Parliamentary Elections it was also the occasion to discuss the current and future developments of the agri-food and forestry sector.
The Secretariat, represented there by Toni Ventre and Elisabetta Gravano (Tuscany region) participated in the session on “Resilient landscape and bioeconomy opportunities” bringing the experiences of the Mediterranean Model Forest Network as driver for a territorial development that take into account the need of local communities and empowered their role in creating and manage resilient landscape.
The MMFN was also present with some posters in the dedicated session, where the Secretariat had the occasion to present the Network and the projects ongoing in the Model Forests of the Mediterranean.
On the last day MMFN also took part in the meeting of the ERIAFF Working Groups on Bioregions and Forested Regions.
