Traceability of the products in the MF Mirna River Basin

Traceability of the products in the MF Mirna River Basin was the project implemented in 2015 and funded by International Model Forest Network. The objective of the projects is to implement a new tool to help manufacturers in the Model Forest area promote their products in an innovative way.  Producers involved in the project are members of the association; honey producer A&Z Ltd., Companies Zigante truffles and Natura truffles with truffle products, a coal producer Entreprise Karbun, Flego and Ipsa with olive oil and OPG Dantinjana with organic apple juices. Products included in this project were given own stamp with a numeric and QR code, which, almost instantaneously, could provide important product information on the Model Forest website. By scanning a stamp using a smartphone, one can find out all about the place and origin, the plant species from which the product was made, the method of collection, the collector, the processor and the manufacturer, and the product itself. In addition to promoting products, the project also connects all entrepreneurs involved in the production process, which adds value to the product.
