An edition, the thirteenth, which will be global, digital and physical, with a rich calendar that will be inaugurated on October 8 and will last until April 2021. The edition is renewed by proposing a new "world geography" that has as its common thread research and protection of biodiversity. The focus is therefore no longer on individual states but on ecosystems, in particular: “HIGHLANDS”, “WATER LANDS”, “LOWLANDS” and “URBAN LANDS”.
After the signing of the memorandum of understanding with Slow Food International, the Mediterranean Network of Model Forests will also participate in a transversal manner in this edition, in particular in November, proposing specific virtual meetings on the 4 major themes that will affect both the Model Forests of the Mediterranean Network than the International Network.
Furthermore, in conjunction with the event, the annual meeting of the Mediterranean Model Forest Network (Med Forum) will be organized, also in digital mode, which will aim to show which strategies the Network has put in place in order to support the communities of the territories of the “HIGHLANDS” in the process of resolving the conflicts.
Finally, the Secretariat of the Mediterranean Network will, during the six months of events, stimulate territorial initiatives on specific themes of TERRA MADRE 2020 that link the Model Forests and the Slow Food communities present in the territories, with a view to an ever closer and effective collaboration.
