The event of the Western Macedonia Model Forest Initiative, to celebrate the 30th anniversary of the International Model Forest Network (IMFN), were completed with success.
On September 17, 2022, the participants visited the Forest of Voio in the Namata area, where they were informed about the Western Macedonia Model Forest progress, they were taught a course of environmental education on forest species and non-wood forest products (mushrooms, fruits & nuts), observation and harvesting of the same. Then were introduced to the secrets of Forest therapy and the activities were completed with a visit to a farm of aromatic plants and black truffles in Mikrokastro of Voio (headquarters of the Western Macedonia Model Forest ).
On Sunday, September 18, 2022, activities (games) were held for young students with an environmental content in Kouri Kozani Forest and gifts were distributed.
The participants of both days were excited awaiting the next actions of Western Macedonia Model Forest Initiative.
