Regione Toscana brings the MMFN to the 6th Edition of the Forest Innovation Workshop in Brussel

 ‍

Regione Toscana, which has managed the MMFN Secretariat since 2019, participated in the 6th Forest Innovation Workshop and OptFor-EU Mid-Term Conference in Brussels on March 11-12. Organized by key European forestry networks and institutions, the event focused on exploring innovations, discussing regional priorities, and fostering collaboration in the forest-based sector. 

 

Toni Ventre and Elisabetta Gravano represented the MMFN Secretariat in the Regional Authorities Roundtable Discussion, sharing insights on forest innovation success stories and challenges. The event underscored the importance of regional cooperation and knowledge exchange in shaping sustainable forest policies across Europe.

FOR.SA, an international event on Forest Therapy by the Montagne Fiorentine Model Forest

 ‍


FOR.SA, which stands for “Forests and Health”, is a project coordinated by the Montagne Fiorentine Model Forest and funded by the Rural Development Program of Tuscany and aims to enhance the Valdisieve and Valdarno mountain areas by creating spaces for “forest therapy” practices.

 

On March 15, 2025, the “Forests and Health” Conference will take place in Vallombrosa, Italy. This final event will focus on exploring how forests, communities, and human health can regenerate together. National experts and international guests, such as Dr. Kazunori Ito from Meiji University of Integrative Medicine, representing the Kyoto Model Forest in Japan, will present their experiences and future proposals during panel discussions.

Join Istituto Oikos in Lebanon as Project Manager

 ‍

Istituto Oikos is seeking a Project Manager with expertise in natural resource management. The role, based in Aammiq (Lebanon) with travel to Beirut and other project areas, involves leading a 36-month project focused on ecological conservation, sustainable agriculture, and climate change adaptation.

Candidates should have at least 5 years of experience in managing large international projects, a background in environmental sciences, and strong leadership skills. Applications are due by March 7, 2025.
