FOR.SA, an international event on Forest Therapy by the Montagne Fiorentine Model Forest

The Montagne Fiorentine Model Forest invites you to the final event of the FOR.SA project.

FOR.SA, which stands for “Forests and Health,” is funded by the Rural Development Program of Tuscany and aims to enhance the Valdisieve and Valdarno mountain areas by creating spaces for “forest therapy” practices.

On March 15, 2025, the “Forests and Health” Conference will take place in Vallombrosa, Italy. This event will focus on exploring how forests, communities, and human health can regenerate together. National experts and international guests will present their experiences and future proposals during panel discussions. Among the international guests at the event will be Dr. Kazunori Ito from Meiji University of Integrative Medicine, representing the Kyoto Model Forest in Japan. His participation provides a valuable opportunity to strengthen connections between different Regional Model Forest Networks worldwide.

Forest therapy, a rapidly growing field worldwide, has been studied with promising results by the National Research Council and the Italian Alpine Club. Over the past year, the FOR.SA project has collaborated with local communities to design therapeutic trails in the mountains around Florence, offering healing spaces that also contribute to the local economy.

Details on the program and participation are available on the event dedicated page. Stay updated by visiting the project website.
